It is also very rich in the amino acid lysine (which is limited in vegetable proteins) and other essential amino acids (arginine, methionine, threonine and valine).
It is gluten-free, and therefore ideal for people with celiac disease.
Since it is a very energizing cereal, it is widely consumed in colder countries such as Poland, Russia and Northern China.
Due to its energizing effect, it is not recommended to be consumed at night.
